Is a Technology Assessment Right for You?
Have your business needs outgrown your old content management systems, legacy applications or tools? Are you delaying making changes because you don’t know what options to consider or the best vendors to address today’s business challenges? Or are you stuck in the status quo because you’re overwhelmed by the undertaking to get from your current state to your desired state?
Flatirons can relieve these burdens and help you get started on your digital transformation by doing a technology assessment. We specialize in keeping up with today’s technologies so you don’t have to. Through an assessment, we’ll get to know business needs, present fresh options for the future, provide analysis that shows how each one measures up to your requirements, and assess what you might expect as a return on your investment.
What Does an Assessment Include?
We break technology assessments into three phases: analysis, technology comparisons, and project plans. The outcome provides you with a clear understanding of concrete steps you can take to move forward and make a positive impact on your organization.
This phase includes face to face collaborative requirements workshops. We validate your current (“as-is”) situation and help to crystalize your vision for a desired (“to-be”) outcome. We dig into how your system works today and document your current challenges. Then we help identify known areas for improvement, technologies you may be considering, and wish list items. We want to know what you’d like to be able to do if you had a blank canvas.
The second phase is where we put together a concise list of recommendations, technologies and vendors. We present it to you in a way so that you can easily see the pros and cons and potential outcomes of each alternative based on your business needs. You’ll be able to see where each one meets your requirements and understand where there may be shortcomings.
The final phase of the assessment provides a go-forward project plan and cost estimate based on solution and vendor recommendations. You’ll get a cost range for software and services along with estimated implementation plan to bring each potential solution to production. Finally, we’ll provide an estimate of the return on investment (ROI) you may expect to achieve from the various options.
